Printmakers in Gaucin

Artists rarely collaborate.  Artists work alone. Not the four printmakers in this film.  They decided to experiment with collaboration.  Could they produce a truly collaborative print? They would spend a week together away from the pressures of commissions, family and social events.  They share each others ‘trade secrets’.  Here’s is a chance to meet the artists.

And by the way - there are more original prints hanging on walls than any other art-form. These four artists are at the top of their field. Our film offers a visual treat.

Printmakers Brenda Hartill Anita Klein Mychael Barratt Trevor Price

Brenda Hartill is one of London’s best-selling printmakers.  Though she comes from New Zealand she has worked all her life in Southwark.  She has recently focused on heavily embossed textured prints based on natural forms.

Anita Klein's bold figurative works chronicling family life sell in their thousands.  She is currently President of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers.  Her London studio is in her family home in leafy Brockley.

Mychael Barratt produces amusing, finely executed figurative etchings often with an allegorical, fantastical element.

Trevor Price specialises in humorous and sexy figurative drypoints and etchings.

Mychael and Trevor are successful printmakers and have a trail of avid collectors.  They share a studio in a converted factory in the shadow of Millwall Football ground in Bermondsey.
